In 2006, the New York Police Department received 108 complaint cases that took place in Cooper Park, a public housing development in Brooklyn. In 2018, the number of complaints reached 212.

The most common types of reported crimes in 2018 are harassment in the second degree, assault in the third degree, offence against public order and public sensibility, dangerous drugs, miscellaneous penal law and criminal mischief. The number of cases in all these categories rose from 2006 to 2018.
